  • Karas LLC advances its legaltech and AI programme with Claude

A row of navy leather-bound files on a wooden shelf, one raised slightly in a shaft of light with a thin gold thread leading from it; Antonis K. Karas LLC and Philarist logos in the corner.

Antonis K. Karas LLC, a Cyprus law firm founded in 1974, is investing in legaltech and artificial intelligence as part of a deliberate, forward-looking programme.

Since January 2026 the firm has been working with law firm management consultant Philippos Aristotelous on the order in which to do it: structure and security first, then small, controlled AI steps. The firm uses Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, through Claude Team, the organisational business plan, so that access is administered centrally and the firm’s content is handled under commercial terms rather than a personal account.

The first step is a prototype in a pilot stage. The firm is being deliberately cautious with permissions, security and data. The prototype is being tested and is not yet in daily use across the firm, and a qualified lawyer remains responsible for checking anything an AI assistant produces.

Philippos Aristotelous has written up the approach as a case study, shared with the firm’s permission: “Legaltech and AI implementation at a Cyprus law firm: a Claude case study”.
